Introduction

The Talos Document Distribution System stores, distributes, and tracks MSDS documents reliably and efficiently. Talos Distribution saves time and effort by automatically updating users with new versions of MSDS documents, and recording who received what documents when.

At the heart of Talos Distribution is a live interface with the Talos MSDS Authoring System. This interface ensures that the distribution system always contains the most recent versions of MSDSs. The system automatically updates appropriate recipients when new versions of documents become available. The system also features a complete, easy to use web interface that allows users to manage contacts, distribution lists, and documents; to send distributions manually; and to view the complete distribution history for documents and recipients. Finally, the system features configuration tools for administrators, allowing customization of security and privilege groups.

The Talos Distribution System Interface Talos Distribution allows users to quickly determine which customers have received which documents. Users can look up the distribution history for a customer, for a document, or for a customer-document pair. The system layout also provides easy access to all functionality and to the specific document distributions that each user has created.

A Sample Distribution A distribution delivers any number of documents to any number of customers. Each customer receives the documents by their method of choice: fax, email, or hardcopy. Distribution preferences can be limited so that documents are only sent out by methods the user allows. A custom message can be included with each distribution. In addition, a distribution can be marked to auto-update, meaning that whenever the documents in the distribution are updated, the recipients in the distribution automatically receive the new version via their preferred method.

Sample Search Results In addition to the above features, users may search documents using standard fields, such as Product Name or CAS Number, or by keywords that are user-defined. From the Document Search Results, users can send documents, edit document details, and view documents in PDF format.
